A native of Co.Cavan and reared on a family farm, Joe was educated at St. Aidan’s Comprehensive School, Cootehill, University College Dublin, Trinity College, St.Patrick’s Teacher Education College and Dublin Institute of Technology. He is married to Mary Tully who is a native of Co. Roscommon, and has three sons, Alexis 13, Eoghan 11 and Daire 7. A primary teacher by profession, he also ran a small business.

  1. Joe will work on building a solid relationship between the people and their MEP and will ensure this by holding Bi-Monthly Open Forums in each Dail Constituency that he will represent.
  2. Joe will work on the protection of the CAP and the Common Fisheries Policy which are due for review, as soon as he enters the European Parliament, in order to protect our farmers and fishermen who play a vital role in our society.
  3. Joe will ensure continued investment from the European Investment Bank that will support Small and Medium Size Enterprises and will look to the European Central Bank to increase the level of financial regulation for our damaged banking and financial institutions.
  4. Joe, as an Ulster candidate will tackle the issues that are faced by border counties and the haemorrhaging of jobs and enterprise as seen in the past year.
  5. Joe is a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and is connected with the European People’s Party, the biggest party in Europe. He holds a .Masters Degree in European Integration among many other qualifications which will ensure Joe O’Reilly as a strong voice for the North West in Europe.
